Adelaide cyber cafe

Dear comrades
Greetings from the deep south. I am in an internet cafe surrounded by young men swearing hard at computers while they attempt to shoot everything that moves on said screen. I have stumbled across an odd sub culture...
Well, we have made it! The house is full of boxes and looks a complete mess, but by and large we are in and operating. Dont have a phone yet (2 weeks away) nor internet (another week) but loads of family support and help. Which is just as well because I dont have a f*ckin' clue about anything else in this dang town! For instance, the sun sets over the sea! Go figure!?
The shift has felt a lot harder than i expected. I really miss the BrisVegas surroundings esp friends. Great to see you all at the party a couple of weeks ago.
But enough sooking about a past life, down to business. Where the hell are the PDC scores?? Did anyone play? A report of some kind would be greatly appreciated.
Hugs for now
Lord

PS. RIP Akermanis, J. You were great, pal, just wish you could engage your brain before your mouth.
PSS. Schnap, sorry i didnt reply to your email before i left. Nice words.

Dear Lord
I am similarly hungry for PDC news. The only name I saw in the results was The Craw with a solid net 74.

We all know that the scores tell us nothing. Were the conditions benign or blustery, wet or dry, hot or cold....? Who made the journey? Who finished the first leg of the journey? Who cracked under the pressure of expectation? So many unanswered questions. No wonder the kids of this generation turn to shooting things in cyber space as old men from far off lands watch them out of the corner of their eyes!

Good to hear you made your journey in one piece Lord. Sounds like an epic. My sister was just in Port Fairy on the weekend and gave it a good wrap. So much exploring ahead for the Hogarths.

Sorry we weren't able to make the party but no doubt it was a fun day and night. Was Acne Manis there? Talk he may join the Crows or Port and that your move was designed as a lure - Rex Hunt style!?

Any thoughts on Tiger? Another boring workmanlike display I'm sure you'd all agree.

Good luck to all in the 2nd round and for f*cks sake, feed us an update.

Schnap

Tremendous comments from Bellringer (now recorded for all time in the comments section of the blog)

PDC First Round Highlights....

"Well may we say that the PDC is shrinking in numbers, but nothing will ever take away from this great Australian institution".

The craw, chief and bellringer were the only legal entries to the 2006 PDC. Shirls thankfully chipped in (only kidding) to complete the four. Of course from the first tee there was a kafuffle. Shirls mumbling something about having to attend to a patient arrived 10 minutes late and joined the PDCers on the 1st fairway. Perhaps times have changed - attending to nurses was the only plausible excuse in years past.

The scratchy start was typical of old men on a brisk morning. The craw attempted to visit the green keepers shed (1st West) and Bellringer dunked the entry shot. It seemed like it was going to be a long day for the unlucky golfers amongst us.

Amazingly the craw completed an unlikely 4 on the first and holed a pitch for birdie on the second. (Dang that was unlucky!).

The Chief plugged away in a workman like fashion, implementing the Gary Calder lesson fodder methodically to turn the front nine in 4 over. The craw faired better with 2 over (I think) showing off the chipping practice from the driving range that week (Lord - Ruling Please. Is this legal?) Bellringer turned 1 over with a lacklustre 9.

The wheels on the back nine looked wobbly with the craw doubling ten and bellringer having three jabs on 11 & 12.

Having thought that things had settled down into gutter jokes (shirls), gutter language (shirls), gutter chipping (shirls) and kiwi (simply shirls), shirls startled fellow PDCers by revealing his inner feminine side (yes that's right - Shirls) extolling the benefits on the recent pedicure that he had had, but advising strongly against facials. This appeared to be too much for the Chief who promptly had a snowman on 12.

The PDCers settled down into a rhythm for the remaining holes with some more impressive demonstrations of short game deftness from the craw and starry long range bins from the Chief and Bellringer on 17.

Leaderboard.... Craw 79/73.....Chief (80/75) / Bellringer (75/75).

So with 2 shots in it, the leaderboard resembles the BO. Stay tuned....

Regards

Bellringer

PS: Quote to inspire PDCers next week...."Maintain your rage and enthusiasm" (perhaps misguided advice)
